Chief Executive Officer

Craig Furness joined Gallagher Bassett in 2016 and boasts more than 16 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Dedicated to delivering the best possible outcomes and integrated global business solutions for clients, Craig continues to overlay his operational, manufacturing, distribution and financial expertise in his role as Chief Executive Officer.

With a deep understanding of the New Zealand market, Craig is committed to providing tailored solutions to Gallagher Bassett’s national customers, considering their unique risks and opportunities while enhancing global reputation and increasing business growth across multiple insurance sectors.

Steven Walsh

Chief Client Officer

Steven has over 25 years of industry experience working in senior managerial roles at publicly listed financial services companies. Steven’s extensive skillset includes general management, national leadership, product management, sales and distribution of banking and financial services in the New Zealand market.

Prior to Gallagher Bassett, Steven held leading roles for a number of insurance companies such as ASB, Sovereign, Sentinel, AMP and Westpac and brings that wealth of experience across general, life and health insurance, to the group.

Gabrielle Cook

National People and Culture Manager

As National People and Culture Manager, Gabrielle Cook supports the Gallagher Bassett New Zealand team to feel supported, safe and effective in and outside of work. She places immense importance on creating a culture that is inclusive, diverse, collaborative and passionate, and was an integral part of the team's recent award win of Employer of Choice in the Inaugural New Zealand HR Awards. 

Gabrielle encourages her team to respond dynamically to adversity to manage the many changes and challenges the insurance industry is facing.
